How to do on-page SEO?, a  9 Step ON-page SEO Checklist for beginners

SEO is one of the most demanded services of the 20th century because of the immense value it brings with SEO. A successful SEO campaign can fulfill your dream of unlimited FREE organic traffic. But as wisdom says ‘good things don’t come to you easily’. To answer this old question, here we have come out with a 9 Step On-Page SEO Checklist for beginners’.

SEO can basically be categorized into two types, On-page and Off-page. While doing the SEO of your website, you first need to do a proper On-page analysis of your website. The on-page needs to be done on individual pages (As we have mentioned in our YouTube Channel, Google always rank your webpage). Search Engines always treat your webpage as a single entity. So, the On-page is a process when you optimize your webpage and make it more relevant so that it can rank higher and gain the potential traffic. It includes both the content and the code. If we talk about a website there are many web development services from where you can create WordPress, Html, Php, other websites. So, what are the parameters and the factors we should keep in mind while doing the On-page SEO?

9 Tips to Step Up your On-Page SEO Game

1 Content-Quality

While designing the content always keep in mind that your content should be unique and has quality in it. It is nicely written, grammatically appropriate, and should be able to deliver the intent. Let’s say suppose you are searching for some information; you go to search bar type your query and Google will show the results for that query. There is very little chance that you will find vague and bogus content. It always delivers the right information to the user. So, always focus on the quality of your content while composing it, you can also hire content marketing services for better quality.

2- Content-Length

The length of the content in words should be good. Google gives less preference to the thin content. A little and no added value content won’t help you to gain rankings, and Google always checks these things. So always try to write your content more than 300 words

3- Heading Tags

In HTML there are 6 heading tags, namely H1 to H6. The use of heading tag is most important while doing the on-page SEO, the heading tags should be used wisely in a webpage. Like the H1 heading is the first one that we use to tell the topic of our post, article or blog. Ideally, use the H1 heading tag only once in your content, the other heading tags like H2, H3… It can be used as subheadings of the content. Don’t make your page loaded with inappropriate heading tags with no sense.

4 – Keywords

A keyword is a word that tells us what is the intent of the user or in simple language, you can call it a phrase or the query of the searcher. Google always tracks the search queries and keeps a record of how many times it gets hit on the search engine. After finalizing the keywords of your webpage, try to include the keywords in your heading tags with proper sense. Don’t put it unnecessarily. It should be good and nicely written. Always remember that don’t overdo this. Try to add your keywords in your paragraphs and content but with limited frequency, Google penalizes such WebPages. If they found you overdoing these things, if you stuff keywords in your content, your content will have no value and such content is of no use. SO, better to maintain the quality of your content.

5 -Internal & External Linking

Let me give you an example of the internal linking, suppose we are searching for some information and we land over the page. Here, we can see some text or phrase has hyperlinks in it. (We call them to anchor text). These links are either internal or external. In content if there is some topic or phrase which you have already written in a separate blog or article then you can link that topic to the article and make it easier for visitors to find information on that topic. If the user has the curiosity to know about the topic and ultimately, clicks on the link the user can read another article and find information on it. It increases the traffic on your webpages.

The external is the same but here you link the text or phrase to the other website, this is the reason we call it external link. If your WebPages are internally connected, it is easy for the search engine crawlers to recognize your webpage and it

6- Images & alt tags

Images are important. The images on the webpage should have an alt tag and description tag. The significance of the alt tag is when the image to unable to load then the text will appear instead of the image.

7- Broken links

The broken links are the links which are linked to some page internal or external page. The redirected page should exist, if there are some links which do not exist, then correct the links and delete them

8 – Speed optimization

Always check the speed of the loading page of your website. There are many elements on your website which may be hindering the speed of your website. It could be some javascript, CSS, and heavy images, try to identify them and it makes your page load faster.

9- Title Tag & Meta description

The title tag is the most important; the on-page is completely worthless if the proper and appropriate title has not been composed. Google always checks the title of your webpage and significantly match the query with the user through your title. The title tag should be composed nicely and uniquely which clearly specifies the purpose of the webpage. The length of the Title tag is 60-65 char for desktop. Don’t make your title too long as it will be shown on the search results.
